Couldn’t see her through the mist. Missed every shot I took, and we took or time, but the point got lost on a not so poignant rhyme. And I remember feeling sick. Sour stomach, metallic taste in my mouth, as I told myself another sweet unconvincing lie. Now the storm it closes in. Creeping silence settles. Infinite in her eyes. When you’ve lived your whole life inside and can’t escape the comfort of the eye of the storm. It’s no wonder you can’t see the thieves at the door. They’re knocking at your door. You say there’s something missing, but you never seem to find it. You say that I don’t understand, but I don’t seem to mind it. Never able to resist. Even tempered, still, consistently out of time. But this cadence eases it’s way into my mind. Now this story too must end., and it’s too late to make it right. Nothing was fine, and it wouldn’t change a thing. No long goodnights. No more effort to concede. And as night falls I close my eyes and sigh. After the Fall.

In the distance a dark cloud rises over a mountaintop. A foreboding sign of things to come. In this instance I find myself reminded of days gone by. And my only recourse, to succumb. When we all meet the day where we can safely say there is no other way around (No hope to be found) but straight ahead full steam. A dream remains a dream, until we find what seems profound, but it’s not at all. We rue the day when each of us must say “Auf Weidersehen” Farewells in vain. On the path home a stranger passes. Unpassable odds abound. As our eyes meet, the fear is palpable. As we all roam further from home, no paradise in sight, We roll this pair of dice and sigh and kiss this world goodbye Believing we will soon be home. We rue the day when each of us must say “Auf Weidersehen” Farewells in vain.

My grandmother was diagnosed when I was 29. Her Parkinson's was mild so we thought that she had time, but as I sat next to her hospice bed drinkin' smuggled in red wine I looked into her eyes and saw the pain she held inside. In just under two years she'd gone from strong to thin and frail. This once furious woman, now, unable to prevail against what stood in front of her, so, with one lucid inhale, she said “Always do your best, my boys To be there for each other when you fail.” We all will fail. We all will cry. So raise your glass, and raise it high! Lift up your voice. Shout to the sky. And know this, too, will soon pass by. My grandfather fell ill one day when I was just 13. He'd been a smoker all his life, but the X-Ray came back clean. A tobacco farming country boy from Western Kentucky. but cancer can strike anywhere you'll never be ready. It came on quick, it came on hard. In only six months time Everyone who knew the man could see the end was nigh. And when we kissed him on the cheek and said our last goodbyes, and laid his body in the ground, all we could do was cry. We all will fail. We all will cry. So raise your glass, and raise it high! Lift up your voice. Shout to the sky. And know this, too, will soon pass by. The first call came in around 8, I reached for the landline. Our family is thick as thieves so everything seemed fine, and muffled sobs over the phone ain't much to a boy of nine, but by the seventh time it rang, I knew something wasn't right. The cops showed up, our folks got home, and they took them aside. I could not make out the name he said, but I heard my mother's cries. A fatal gunshot to the head for this soon-to-be bride, and when they said ”your aunt is dead” the child in me died. We all will fail. We all will cry. So raise your glass, and raise it high! Lift up your voice. Shout to the sky. And know this, too, will soon pass by.

Are you enjoying your helping of economic content? Now the courses are ready and the table’s been set. So lick the blood off you plate now, and c’est la vie to regret. None of us decide where we are born, but we can choose the way we live. Are we compelled to just weather the storm, or push ahead with all we have to give? Or push ahead with all we have to give? And the salient fact is this: We’ve all been consigned to do as our masters please. Are we resigned to follow fate, and to repeat all of our ancestors' mistakes? Or do we choose this place and time to make our stand and fight? If no one ever dreamed of a better world than their own We’d never make any progress. We’d still bow to a throne. None of us can hide from who we are. Embrace, not erase our differences, and push ahead with all we have to give. And push ahead with all we have to give. But the truth is inconvenient, and it’s by design we’re so easily deceived. Are we resigned to follow fate, and to repeat all of our ancestors' mistakes? Or do we choose this place and time to make our stand and fight? Are you enjoying your privilege?

Are we alone in this universe? One Short Ride from a womb into a hearse? Will we cease to be, or transcend humanity? Or is this corporeal landscape all there is to see? Cause I’m not sayin’ that I think I know what life is all about, It’s just, I don’t think you do either. And while it may seem we’re at odds about how to figure it out, We’re all, in one way or another, believers. Faith in gawd. Faith in man (and woman!). Random chance, or some genius master plan? Neaux one knows, until we step through death’s door, and it’s a hard lesson to learn, so I’ll say it once more. (technically 3 times, but who’s counting?) Cause I’m not sayin’ that I think I know what life is all about, It’s just, I don’t think you do ether. And while it may seem we’re at odds about how to figure it out, We’re all, in one way or another, believers. Are we alone in these lives we’ve all been made to watch proceed? We get but one short ride, never knowing where it ends. We cease to be. Transcend humanity. Or forced to roam, for all eternity. I’m not sayin’ that I think I know what life is all about, I’m just sayin’ I don’t think you do either. And while it may seem we’re at odds about how to figure it out, we’re all, in one way or another, believers.

How do you do, I see you've met my faithful handyman. He's just a little brought down because, when you knocked, he thought you were the candy man. Don't get strung out by the way that I look. Don't judge a book by its cover. I'm not much of a man by the light of day, but by night I'm one hell of a lover. I'm just a sweet transvestite from transsexual, Transylvania. Let me show you around, maybe play you a sound. You look like you're both pretty groovy. Or if you want something visual that's not too abysmal we could take in an old Steve Reeves movie. I'm glad we caught you at home. Could we use your phone? We're both in a bit of a hurry. (right!) We'll just say where we are, then go fuck in the car. We don't want to be any worry. Well, you got caught with a flat, how bout' that? Well, babies, don't you panic. By the light of the night, it'll all seem alright. I'll get you a satanic mechanic. I'm just a sweet transvestite from transsexual, Transylvania. Why don't you stay for the night? (night) Or maybe a bite? (bite) I could show you my favorite obsession. I've been making a man with blond hair and a tan, and he's good for relieving my tension. I'm just a sweet transvestite from transsexual, Transylvania. Hit it, hit it, I'm just a sweet transvestite (sweet transvestite) from transsexual, Transylvania. So, come up to the lab and see what's on the slab. I see you shiver with antici- Wait for it! -Pation. But maybe the rain isn't really to blame. So I'll remove the cause, but not the symptom.
