lyrics

Couldn’t see her through the mist.
Missed every shot I took,
and we took or time,
but the point got lost on a
not so poignant rhyme.
And I remember feeling sick.
Sour stomach, metallic taste in my
mouth, as I told myself
another sweet unconvincing lie.
Now the storm it closes in.
Creeping silence settles.
Infinite in her eyes.

When you’ve lived your whole life inside
and can’t escape the comfort of the
eye of the storm.
It’s no wonder you can’t see
the thieves at the door.
They’re knocking at your door.

You say there’s something missing,
but you never seem to find it.
You say that I don’t understand,
but I don’t seem to mind it.

Never able to resist.
Even tempered, still,
consistently out of time.
But this cadence eases it’s
way into my mind.
Now this story too must end.,
and it’s too late to make it right.

Nothing was fine,
and it wouldn’t change a thing.
No long goodnights.
No more effort to concede.
And as night falls I
close my eyes and sigh.
After the Fall.
